Summer Camp!
Hey Campers, Moms, Dads, Grandparents, and Camp friends!
From here in Louisiana and all around the country, we have Campers signing up left and right, and we could not be more excited! With multiple Camp sessions available for each age group and plenty of unclaimed bunks left to be filled, we don’t want to have Camp without your Camper. Help us impact more of the next generation this Summer by inviting family, friends, neighbors, classmates, teammates, and anyone else you might think of!
Why Camp CH-YO-CA?
Camp CH-YO-CA is blessed with many wonderful people who have faithfully served Campers so well over the years. Below is an excellent answer to the question, “Why Camp CH-YO-CA,” from one of our cherished directors, Chrys Howard, aka 2 Mama!
I came to Camp in 1967, Camp’s first year, and it changed my life. In today’s culture, a summer camp experience is even more necessary. With Camp’s quiet environment, surrounded by God’s nature, your camper will have the opportunity to get to know God deeper, not to mention all the fun, exercise, people skills, and love they will receive! It’s a great time for kids of all ages to put down the “screens” and connect with each other. We hope to see you all there! And don’t forget to walk around on registration day and see all the upgrades. We can’t believe it ourselves!

Bible Programs!
Our Theme for Summer 2023!
We are excited to officially announce that WISDOM is our theme this Summer!
It has been nine short months since Campers have been at Camp CH-YO-CA. Even though the Campers have returned to their homes and schools, our prayers for them have continued. Our team has carefully planned each Bible lesson, worship set, schedule, skit, and activity with each camper in mind. Below is a message from our Bible Programs Team that goes into greater detail about our theme for the Summer.
We took a deep dive into scripture in search of what the Lord has in store for our campers this Summer. We recognize that our young ones are amidst an ever-changing culture of confusion and hostility to the Word of God. We anchor to what is true, the Wisdom of the Lord. Our heart is to walk through what pursuing the Lord and his Word looks like. To be transparent, we wrestled with the thought of Wisdom as a theme, to be not specific enough for an entire Summer. But through prayerful study and reflection and several conversations, we found confidence in Proverbs 2:1-5 as our theme passage. The Wisdom of God is found only in the pursuit of Him and His Word and is as precious as a hidden treasure. It needs nothing added to it to make it worth seeking after, making WISDOM the perfect theme for us this year!
We will break down our theme passage along with many other scriptures as we learn about Wisdom this Summer. We will look at who God is, who we are, and what we seek in our daily lives, Wisdom or folly. Our prayers are that first, your camper's time out at Camp CH-YO-CA is one of them resting in the truth of who God is, who He created them to be, and how He has called them to live; secondly, that this Summer will not be a landing pad for their faith but a launching point that leads them to live a life led by faith in Christ.
We have an incredible Summer ahead of us out here at Camp CH-YO-CA! We are excited and expectant for what the Lord has for all our Campers on our 100 acres of holy!
